NaPoWriMo Day 8

The Forest at Night
The moon shines its silver light
down on the soft greys of night,
changing trees by the languid stream
into graceful statues that gleam.

The moon shines its silver light
down on the soft greys of night,
while brown owls with eyes all yellow -
the little rodents they follow.

The moon shines its silver light
down on the soft greys of night,
illuminating a snake red
slithering in the grass – fangs bared.

The moon shines its silver light
down on the soft greys of night,
while silver fish hide in brown reeds
and green grasshoppers chirp their deeds.

The moon shines its silver light
down on the soft greys of night -
waning, the moon sets as the dawn
nears with the coming of the faun.
